Rose Eichenbaum, who holds a Masters Degree in Dance from UCLA, studied with original Life magazine photographer Leigh Weiner and master teacher, Bobbie Lane. She has worked as a free-lance photographer for the past 15 years. Rose Eichenbaums ever evolving photographic style is natural and emotional. She carefully crafts light and constantly strives to find creative and original ways of presenting her subjects.
Her evocative photographs in The Number on My Grandfathers Arm (UAHC Press) won her the prestigious Sydney Taylor Book Award. In May of 2000 she won the Maxxum 9 Photo Contest, through the Minolta Corporation. She is a regular contributor to nationally acclaimed Dance Magazine. Her work has appeared on covers and in numerous magazines and newspapers including Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher, Dance and Fitness, Backstage West, Philadelphia, Banking Strategies, the Los Angeles Times, and many others. Ms. Eichenbaum is the resident photographer for the Academy of Dance on Film in Hollywood, California, and has earned the title of Official Photographer for the American Choreography Awards for the past three years.
Ms. Eichenbaum is currently at work on a book entitled Movement Masters: Portraits of Americas Great Choreographers.
